The Archangel Raphael is a merciful healer, sent by God to comfort the sick and the sorrowing. From the Holy Scripture we know that Raphael expelled demons from a woman. There are many people in these days who are possessed by demons. Unfortunately both they and their relatives often turn for help to sorcerers or others who hide behind pseudo-scientific names like “extrasensorics.” But will sorcerers, these servants of the devil, expel demons? Obviously not. The power to expel demons and heal those who are possessed by them belongs to the holy angels and particularly to Archangel Raphael. Let us ask him to intercede for us before the Lord our God, Giver of all good things.

Raphael is depicted with a medicinal vessel in his hand, in the manner of the Great-martyr and healer St Panteleimon. All who suffer spiritually and mentally should call upon Archangel Raphael, fortifying their prayer with deeds of mercy and charity.
